About Shared Files

The Shared Files pane allows you to easily serve files from several points on your filesystem. Share can serve any files or folders that are accessible from the Finder. Files and folders may be added to the share from the Shared Files pane.

The simplest way to add files to the the shared files list is to navigate to the Shared Files pane of Share and dropping files onto the shared files table. The Shared Files pane can be reached by clicking on the "Plugins" button of the toolbar and then clicking on the arrow button next to "Shared Files" in the Plugins table. From here, you may add files by dropping them onto the Shared files table or by clicking the "Add" button and navigating to the file(s) that you want to share. You may remove files from the shared files list by selecting the files you wish to remove and clicking the "Remove" button. The files will not be deleted from the filesystem. Share will simply remove them from the list of shared files.

You may also share folders. Folders are slightly different from files in that clicking on a folder will not result in a download. Instead, Share will open that folder and present the contents of the folder. Every item in the folder will be available to the user. Folders in shared folders may also be opened.
