LANAlert viewer displays configurable information about LAN Alerts from the connected server. All new or unacknowledged alerts have an associated red icon in the first column of the alert display. For each alert, the viewer displays the following information

Information about the sender of the trap. |

The IP Address of the server that sent the trap. |
Sensor Device |
Identifies the instance of the device that holds the sensor that generated the event. |
Sensor Info |
Information about the sensor that generated the event. |

Information about the event that caused the trap. |
Below the list of alerts, the viewer contains seven buttons:

Opens the LANAlert Configuration dialog box that selects a notification method and the information displayed in the Alert Details window. |
Select All |
Selects all alerts. |
View Details |
Displays the Alert Details window. |
Acknowledge |
Changes the alert status to acknowledge and removes the red icon in the first column. |
Delete |
Deletes the selected alert. |
Close |
Exits the LanAlert Viewer. |

NOTE: In order for the LanAlert Viewer to receive alerts, the Windows SNMP service needs to be installed. The following steps describe how to install the SNMP service on Windows NT and Windows 2000.
Windows NT
Open the Control panel and select "Network".
Select the "Services" tab and click the Add button.
Select the "SNMP Service" and click the Ok button.
Windows 2000
Open the Control panel and select the "Add/Remove Programs".
Click on the "Add/Remove Windows Components" icon.
Click the "Management and Monitoring Tools" check box and then the Next button.
