Application Icon   The action menu

DEVONsphere Express' action menu, which opens when you click the gear icon next in the top right corner of the menu, is similar to the application menu in regular OS X applications. It contains commands for displaying the splash screen, opening the Preferences window, and quitting the application.

  • Icon
    About DEVONsphere Express: Shows information about DEVONsphere Express including the version number and licensing information.
  • Icon
    Help: Shows a submenu for accessing this help, showing the release notes, and opening DEVONtechnologies' web site in your default web browser.
  • Icon
    Welcome: Opens the welcome assistant, which is automatically opened when DEVONsphere Express is opened for the first time.
  • Icon
    Quit: Quits DEVONsphere Express.

Preferences, ...

  • Icon
    Preferences: Opens the Preferences window.
  • Icon
    Update Index: Updates the index now.
  • Icon
    Cancel Indexing: Cancels indexing.
  • Icon
    Mode: Switch between See Also and Search mode. You can also switch modes with the button that pops out when you point at the left-hand side of the input field.

    Show/Hide View Options: Shows or hides the view options.
  • Icon
    Show/Hide Web Search: Shows or hides the "Web Search" category. Useful especially with its keyboard shortcut (⌘⇧W).
  • Icon
    Hide Menu Automatically: Check to hide DEVONsphere Express' menu automatically when you switch to another window. Similar to the switch in the top left corner of the menu or the option of the sname name in Preferences, General tab.

History

Access previous searches here. Depending on your preferences DEVONsphere Express goes back to live updating as soon as you switch to another window.

    Back: Goes to the saved search in the history. Similar to the button in the menu.

    Forward: Goes to the next saved in the history. Similar to the button in the menu.

    Clear: Clears the history.
